| Abstract: | This issue of the Education Letter seeks to inform you about family literacy, describe some successful programs, and discuss principles that teachers and schools may draw upon to develop family literacy programs. A report on a conference co-sponsored by Queen's Faculty of Education that focussed on exemplary family literacy programs from coast to coast is included. Two of these programs (PRINTS and PALS) may serve as models to teachers and schools interested in developing programs for their parents.
In addition, with the goal of interesting you in becoming involved in family literacy programs in your community, lists of resources and organizations are provided throughout the newsletter.
