| Abstract: | This report summarizes the development and provides an interim assessment of the City of Toronto’s existing surplus school lands acquisition policy while reviewing the redevelopment of the ten school sites acquired by the municipality between 1998 and 2011, and their consistency with the corporate acquisition criteria that form an important part of the existing policy. Based on a review of the surplus school policies of other Ontario municipalities, it provides a set of recommendations to improve Toronto’s ability to acquire properties of corporate interest. |
