    Description of the John Buchan Collection, presented to the Douglas Library (Queen's University) in 1955 by Colonel and Mrs. R.S. McLaughlin, of Oshawa. Formerly the private library of the late John Buchan, first Baron Tweedsmuir, the collection is now a memorial to him in the country where he served as Governor-General from 1935 to 1940.

    John Rhodes Sturdy collection finding aid

    John Rhodes Sturdy (1911-1974) was a Canadian writer. He worked as a reporter for the Montreal Gazette (1929-1938), served in the Royal Canadian Navy, and was a public relations official for the Canadian Pacific Railway. He wrote many short stories and articles freelance for magazines, as well as screenplays, most notably for the movie "Corvette K-225" (1943). Collection consists of magazines containing short stories or articles by John Rhodes Sturdy, or of stories cut from magazines; also two promotional magazines relating to the movie "Corvette K-225", and a pamphlet history of St. Mark's Church, Ganges, B.C.
