Canada from 1945 to 1982
Abstract
Have students explore the period between the Second World War and the Constitution Act of 1982.
Within this period, students will be able to understand the significance of political and governmental
events as well as the impact such events had on the lives of Canadians. Moreover, students will be
able to understand the creation of key social welfare programs that were created and expanded
during this period and explain their significance. In order to do this, students will look at evidence,
continuity and change, cause and consequence, the ethical dimension as well as the significance and
historical perspective of these specific events
