    Abstract
    This research identifies the practical opportunities for resident-driven, asset based community development in a neighbourhood that faces many socio-economic challenges. A community storefront model is adapted to emphasize the role of resident empowerment and collective action towards a well-connected, hospitable community that residents are proud to call home.
