Casa Museo Rodolfo Siviero, Florenceen_US
This kind of arrangement of fruit and flowers, made of terracotta and glazed in a naturalistic array of colours, was one of the products of the workshop of Giovanni della Robbia in the sixteenth-century. Presumably made for domestic decoration, the fruit was likely originally a cover for a vase. (The current placement on top of a sort of a cake-stand came later.) This work is currently housed in the Casa Museo Rodolfo Siviero in Florence. Photograph(s) licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.en_US
