Geometallurgical Modeling Framework
Abstract
Geometallurgical modeling allows understanding and transferring the variability of input variables into the downstream processes. In this paper, we present the overview of the geometallurgical modeling framework, and show how models developed at different stages of the mining production cycle can be linked to transfer the uncertainty from one process to the next, from the exploration to the final product. The model then allows for feedback and optimization, to improve decision-making. We identify the main areas of research and show how different models are combined to build a model of the entire mining process.
