Abstract

On the right wall of the Rospigliosi-Pallavicini chapel in San Francesco a Ripa in Rome is a funerary monument dedicated to Maria Camilla (1645–1710) and Giovanni Battista (1646–1722) Rospigliosi dated to 1713. A skeleton crowns the monument, and allegorical statues of Prudence and Charity are sculpted at either side of the black marble sarcophagus. The monument was designed by Nicola Michetti (1675-1758), and the sculptures are attributed to Giuseppe Mazzuoli (1644–1725).
