Abstract
The disagreement on gun-control has been deeply entrenched since the 1800’s (Longley, 2018) with ongoing debates by politicians, philosophers, and journalists. Deep disagreements occur when people do not share the same underlying assumptions. Fogelin (1985) claims that deep disagreements are not rationally reconcilable. “We get a deep disagreement when the argument is generated by a clash of framework propositions” (Fogelin, 1985). Unlike other deep disagreements, the gun-control debate is reconcilable.
