Abstract

This 17th century sculpture represents Saint James. The saint has seashells pinned to his mantle and holds a staff in his right hand and a book in his left. He is wrapped in a gold mantle and wears his hair long. A metal halo circles his head. Though some paint has worn off and some insects have damaged the surface, the sculpture is in decent condition. The sculpture is located in the Chiesa di Santa Maria a Pugliano in Ercolano. Photograph(s) licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
