Abstract

The Costa Chapel in Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome originally belonged to Cardinal Domenico Della Rovere (1442–1501) but was acquired by Cardinal Giorgio Costa del Portogallo in 1488. The polychrome marble and bronze tomb of Cardinal Pietro Foscari (1417–1485) originates from the now-destroyed Foscari Chapel. The tomb, crafted by Giovanni di Stefano da Siena (1444–1511), was carved and cast in 1480. Photograph(s) licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence.
