Abstract
This glazed terracotta altarpiece was made for San Francesco in Arezzo and moved to its current location in the Cathedral of Arezzo in 1811. Andrea della Robbia carried out the commission in collaboration with two of his sons, Giovanni and Marco, who continued the family business. The rich and varied polychromy is more typical of the work of Giovanni della Robbia than that of his father Andrea, who tended to favor predominantly blue and white compositions.
