Abstract

St. Philip Neri was a Florentine-born saint who lived during the 16th century. This statue of St. Philip of Neri is on the right side of three gold-gilded wooden statues made in the 17th century that are located in the choir apse of the Church of San Nicola in Mola di Bari. Like its accompanying statues, there is a heavy use of gold gild on the statue of St. Philip Neri, covering all his robes. His gaze and gesture points to the central statue of St. Nicholas of Bari.
