Abstract
This resource pack explores the end of the First World War and begins exploring different social groups
in the 1920s while focusing on the historical thinking concepts of historical perspectives, historical
significance, change and continuity, and cause and consequences. Students will analyze the Conscription
Crisis of 1917 from different historical perspectives and will analyze the historical significance of the
Treaty of Versailles and its lasting impacts on history. Students will explore change and continuity by
exploring the changing role of women in the 1920s. Finally students will study cause and consequence
by exploring the Indian Residential School System, its origins and its lasting impacts on Indigenous
people and communities, as well as on Canada as whole.
