Abstract
Students will learn how the chain of events in American history in the post-World War II
period were caused by and contributed to each other. The overall goal of this lesson is
that students will gain an appreciation of the concept of cause and consequence – that
historical events do not occur in a vacuum. After completing a “minds on” activity,
students will be taught some significant events. Following that, they will be asked to
complete an activity that forces them to think of these events in terms of cause and
consequence – how they are related to each other.
