Abstract
This painted and gilded stucco relief was made using a mold. The composition was particularly popular -- dozens of versions (all of the same dimensions) survive in stucco and terracotta, each customized through painting. Here the stucco has been painted white, perhaps in imitation of marble or glazed terracotta. A polychrome version of the same composition survives in the same collection, the Museo Civico in Prato.
