Abstract
Towards charting the epistemological expansion of Anglo-American securitization priorities in the service of neoliberal economic modelling, into Canada, this thesis examines the regimented and regulated expansion of the Canadian Department of National Defence’s Military and Strategic Studies Programme into Canadian academia. Specifically, via heretofore unanalyzed primary source data, this thesis concentrates on the creation, operation – and impact upon Canadian security policy – of the University of New Brunswick’s Centre for Conflict Studies and the career path of its initial director, former British military psychological expert Maurice Tugwell.
