Research4Life is a partnership between the World Health Organization, commercial publishers, and library service vendors. It provides free or low cost access to research to 8,000 eligible institutions in the developing world. There are currently four programs: HINARI for health, AGORA for agriculture, OARE for environment, and ARDI for intellectual property and innovation. GOALI, which provides legal information, will be available in 2018. Queen’s University Library staff are well positioned to raise awareness of Research4Life amongst students and faculty working on international projects. A physiotherapy faculty member from the University of Gondar describes the impact that HINARI has had on evidence-based practice and knowledge transfer in Ethiopia.
